The effects of organic compound doping in single-bubble sonoluminescence

Single-bubble sonoluminescence (SBSL) in water has been studied in the presence of low concentrations of simple organic compounds. For a given concentration of aliphatic alcohol, the degree of quenching follows the order, ethanol< I -propanol< 1-butanol, Preliminary experiments with simple we& acids and bases indicate that SBSL quenching only occurs when the pH is adjusted such that the solutes...

Investigate formation constant of some Amino Acids by p-sulphonato-calix (4) arene in Aqueous Solution

The formation constants (log K), of the complexes formed between a number of amino acids(glycine , L-valine and L-alanine) with p-sulfonatocalix [4] arene at varying temperatures (25± 0.1to 65 ± 0.1 °C) in aqueous solutions and at natural pH of p-sulphonato-calix [4] arene (pH=3.2) bymeans of UV-Vis spectrophotometeric technique have been investigated. At this pH the guestmolecule is in its cat...

Application of exogenous organic acids and remediation process of lead and cadmium contamination in canola plants. Hakimeh Oloumi*, Effat Ahmadi Mousavi and Neda Hasibi

Heavy metal contamination of soil, water and air has caused serious environmental hazard in the biosphere due to rapid industrialization and urbanization. A variety of metal binding ligands such as organic acids and amino acids involve in the heavy metal remediation mechanisms by plants. This paper analyses the possible role of amino acid histidine and organic acids, namely, citric, oxalic and ...

Kinetics of Photoinduced Electron Transfer between DNA Bases and Triplet 3,3′,4,4′-Benzophenone Tetracarboxylic Acid in Aqueous Solution of Different pH's: Proton-Coupled Electron Transfer?

The kinetics of triplet state quenching of 3,3',4,4'-benzophenone tetracarboxylic acid (BPTC) by DNA bases adenine, adenosine, thymine, and thymidine has been investigated in aqueous solution using time-resolved laser flash photolysis. The observation of the BPTC ketyl radical anion at λ(max) = 630 nm indicates that one electron transfer is involved in the quenching reactions. The pH-dependence...

The Effects of some Inorganic-, Synthetic- and Organic-Fertilizers on the Vegetative Growth and Iron Content in Pistachio cv. Ghazvini under Alkaline Conditions

In the current research, the effects of some organic fertilizers as fulvic and humic acids on the vegetative growth of pistachio seedlings in a semi-hydroponic culture containing Fe-EDDHA (as a synthetic fertilizer) and FeSO4 (as an inorganic fertilizer) were investigated. The alkalinity is recognized as a main problem in pistachio orchards, therefore the pH of nutrient solution was ...
